Garbage Pickup: Traditional household garbage is collected every Wednesday*
*on holiday weeks, garbage is collected on the day following the normal scheduled day.
Household garbage only
No metal drums or other heavy receptacles allowed
No tree limb branches or other yard materials
No metal or building materials
No hazardous waste; paint, oil, antifreeze, etc.
Covenants:
Trash contains may be placed on the curb the evening before collection and should be returned the night of collection
No rubbish or debris shall be placed or permitted to accumulate where it becomes unsanitary, unsightly, offensive or detrimental to any other property
Refuse, garbage and trash shall be kept in covered containers at all times
Containers should be kept within enclosed structures or screened from view of adjoining property or public street
No burning of refuse is allowed
Limbs and Leaves
There is no "set" schedule for yard debris.
These items should be placed as neatly as possible by the curb
The county will come through and collect when there is enough built up
White Goods, Tires, Electronics, Batteries, Furniture, etc.
Hazardous Waste
Lamar County, in conjunction with other partners, periodically have "Right Way to Throw Away Day's"

At these events, the following is usually accepted:
Aerosols, All-purpose cleaners, Ammonia, Anti-freeze, Appliances, Automobile Cleaner, Barbecue Lighter Fluid, Batteries, Brake fluid, Chlorine Bleach, Detergents, Disinfectants, Drain Opener, Furniture Polish, Herbicides, Insecticides, Mothballs, Motor Oils, Oil Filters, Oven Cleaners, Paint, Paint Thinner, Pesticides, Photographic Development Chemicals, Pool Chemicals, Rodent Poison, Rubber Cement, Rug and Upholstery Cleaner, Silver Polish, Tires, Transmission Fluid, Turpentine, Varnish, Water Sealer, Wood Finish, Computers, Laptops, Keyboards and Monitors, Washers and Dryers, Fluorescent bulbs, TVs, refrigerators and freezers, etc.
